Felicia’s Birthday

This is probably the first time I’m celebrating Felicia’s birthday together although I have probably known her for nearly 2 years, where the last one she celebrated with her bf. This year, we celebrated on the 1st of April (2days before her actual) which happens to be April Fools Day and thank god the girls didn’t had any tricks and mischief up on their sleeves, else I will be really pissed. :/

The plan was to have just a simple dinner together and probably some drinks thereafter and because Felicia didn’t like sweet stuff, we didn’t get her a cake. So, I decided to get her a small bouquet of blue roses which I ordered and had to picked it up after physio that day, and traveled from like TTSH all the way to Seng Kang which was quite far a distance before heading to Holland V. (I know I’m un-employed, so I can’t really afford any huge bouquet, just something small to mark my sincerity as I knew she always mentioned how as a girl, she has never received flowers from any guys, so I shall be the first to do so then.) 🙂

(Blue is her favourite color…)

Anyway, before that night, I spend my entire evening and night making a card for her which I saw on one of the facebook videos that someone shared. It just happened to be so timely and I just learnt and picked it up in no time!

It’s not really very pretty in terms of the colors combo as I did it last minute and didn’t plan the colors but it’s a really good effort for my first attempt on such a card!

We had burgers at FatBoys since Felicia suggested it as it would suit everyone’s taste because Yunteng had kinda alot of food that she avoid so Fatboys would probably be a good option.

IMG_1223

After dinner, we had some drinks at a random ktv pub in Holland V called King’s. The girls didn’t really stayed for long because Yunteng had to head home early to send her parents off and Siru had project to be done the next day, well as for me, I didn’t wanted to be the lightbulb for Felicia and Linc so I left with Siru.

(Sorry Felicia, for leaving early although I promised to drink together on your birthday!)

(Ps, I know the photo quality sucks because the lighting was terrible.)

Happy Birthday Felicia! ❤

Thanks for being a good friend, someone who is spontaneous, fun and full of laughter. 😀

Flashbacks of 21st

I was just trying to free up my phone’s memory space a few days ago, and I realized I have not posted photos about my 21st birthday that happened a year ago, a week before my solo travel to Hong Kong even though I have already shared my HKventures with you guys.

Actually, I did this intentionally because I refused to accept that I was celebrating my 21st without Ah Ma, you know how much she meant the whole world to me and that her, passing away 5days before my birthday is a torture to me because when I know my birthday is coming, it meant that it’s another year gone without her in my life.

And of course, that day when I did my 21st birthday, it was just a tiny weeny birthday celebration that despite everyone tried to be happy and coax me into smiling, I was on the verge of tears every single moment. You know how empty I felt when Ah Ma should have been standing beside me during cake-cutting, photo-taking and smiling at me, telling me that I’ve grown up?

Eventually at the end of the whole celebration, Glad and Karen stayed over with me, and I broke down crying in the tub, sobbing really badly because I missed Ah Ma alot. Glad came to the tub and comforted me while Karen was sleeping soundly. I couldn’t pick myself up and although it was a joyous occasion, it felt like a torment for me trying to be happy when I couldn’t at all. But since everyone held a party for their 21st inviting their friends and family to share the joy, I feel complied to do so, but just a small one.

Here’s the series of events that happened that day:

  • Karen droved and we went to picked up the cake and got some groceries done.
  • Met Glad at Marina Mandarin as Glad have already checked in. (We changed room thrice because the room was not to our liking.)
  • Headed to the pool for a swim
  • Siru and Yunteng came and helped with the deco. Then so did Glenda.
  • Subsequently the rest came and we cut cake
  • Followed by drinking session
  • And the post drinking session at Fern & Kiwi at Clarke Quay
  • END…

We were mimicking Glenda’s favourite pose back then because she was late.

IMG_4126

We didn’t really stayed in the pool for long, it was just a quick tanning and some girls’ talk.

Back then when Glad and I were still very closed, here’s us with absolutely no makeup.

Glad even did my makeup for me and Felicia drawed my eyeline, I was a total make-up fail back then. 😦

With Felicia 🙂

Pam came with her boyfriend and she’s probably the only poly friend that still kept in contact with me after Ah Ma passed on where I totally shut myself in my own world.

Yunteng, she’s probably one of the longest friend that I still kept in contact after years.

IMG_4201

A beautiful shot of the cake with an instax of Pam and me.

(If you actually notice bumps and pockets of air in the fondant, that was because of the poor handling that us inexperienced fondant cake handlers did, by putting the cake in the fridge. HAHA 😛 )

The backdrop didn’t turn out well because I cut it too finely and turns out to be pretty ghostly then elegant, oh wells 😀

It was just a really simple simple 21st, unlike everyone else fancy table setup, but still I was actually pretty thankful that it happened, even if I had to force a smile for photos.

This pose probably look super awkward, but the girls were standing so far apart from me but I had no choice but to cling on to their arms for a group photo.

I still love this the most because after my birthday, Glenda left for Aussie for her studies and since then the clique went on separate ways and we hardly met together anymore. 😦

And some of the girls gave me kisses ❤

IMG_4173

And I shall end this post here, with a happy pic with Glad. 😀

Lola’s Cafe + Singapore Museum

This post is way overdue and should have been posted in May but I just didn’t had the time to transfer the photos from my phone to my laptop, pardon me!

Now, let’s turn back time to the day after my 20th birthday.

Siru decided to meet me to pass me by birthday present that she got for me in Hongkong which includes my favourite nail polishes (Yes! I’m a fanatic nail polish collector!) She made a reservation at Lola’s Cafe as I wanted to go there real badly since it was highly raved on many websites and Instagram, tempted by the food, I just wanted to get a taste of it myself personally.

01THE MENU!

02Something random that I snap while waiting for our food 🙂

03

Ms Chen’s blur face! GOTCHA x

(She’ll probably kill me for posting this, but it’s candid anyway, like what she always say… 🙂

04

I just love the background of the photo because of the reflections of the lights that looks like tiny stars.

07

*drumroll please*

Here’s our food!

05

My order: Mushroom Melt ($10 nett)

Simply loved the chunky mushrooms and cheese on the toast and fresh crisp salad! Loved it! ❤

06

Ms Chen’s order: Farmer’s Bratwurst Roll ($8 nett)

Really wished they could be more generous with the sauce for the frank though.

08

And she decides to snap lots of photo of her food despite me starting to eat my food already which afterwards she complain why her food was cold! ROFL~

09

There’s the lemon tart for dessert. I didn’t really like lemons so I didn’t really ate that…

Overall, I think that Lola’s Cafe is worth a visit and probably I will swing by there if I am free since the cafe food are in nett prices, it’s more worth it that visiting cafes with service charge and gst exclusive and then you have the sucky service, what’s the point of paying service charge right?

10

Guess where we headed to next?

Singapore Museum!!!

I’m not the kind of girl who really enjoyed visiting museum because they are really boring and dull in particular to the exhibit but since there was nothing else better to do after lunch, we decided to head there because the architecture of the Singapore Museum was beautifully British designed that reminds me of the colonial period in Singapore. Furthermore, lots of wedding couples would come by to take their photoshoots.

Just that day, we chanced upon 3 chinese couples and 1 muslim couple!

11

Before we went to the museum, we went to pick up Mr Froggy from Siru’s SMU locker…

12

Took some selfies with Siru’s phone!13 14

Now, you shall be prepared for a long stretched of photos that Siru took for me at the Museum! She didn’t brought her DSLR to help me take those photoshoots but with her phone, some of these photos came out prettily well. Or at least I was in love with the results!

PRESENTING…

SHI YUN

AS THE MODEL!

15

This was taken outdoors and we ended up sweating like mad for the weather was a killer that day!
16 17 18 20

I took this for Ms Chen and taught her how to pose, she’s such a fast learner!

19

The irony of this post, I tried to imitate those brides with their bouquet of roses but instead, I had a plushy in my hands! 😉

21

Totally forgot to introduce my outfit of the day!

Romper from blogshop (can’t remember the weird name):  $28/-

Sandals from Rubi: 2pairs for $30/-

22

Smiling awkwardly because it was a backyard of a bar and the waiters are there preparing for the opening.

23

“I wish you could always be there for me” x24

“All my life, I have been waiting… waiting for the prince to appear in his shiny armour…” kidding~
25

This is just candid because Siru insisted that there’s dust on the low column and made me check my white chiffon romper!

26

I’ve always loved spiral staircase and this one is one of the preserved staircase and feature of this museum, really love how old this staircase is, the intriguing design of the steel stairs despite Siru claiming that this staircase was haunted. :/

27“Smiles never fail to make one look pretty…” 😀
28
Mr Froggy, could you try standing by yourself?”29“Like a little girl”

30

I shall end this with a super duper blur photo of me with Mr Froggy! I really had a good time with Ms Chen and the photos that she took for me looked really pretty although I wouldn’t consider it to be a photoshoot session but it was just fun cracking our brains to do poses and working with the beautiful backgrounds.

What do you think of the photos?

I know some are really over-exposed, over-coloured, blablabla… 😦

Glenda’s Fabulous 19th!

June 20th was supposedly to be my younger sister’s birthday until I met Glenda, whose birth date falls on the same day as my younger sister which gave me a perfectly good excuse to excuse myself from celebrating her birthday…

Since, it’s the first time I’m celebrating Glenda’s birthday, I decided to ATTEMPT to bake a cake!

Disclaimer: I have never baked a cake for the whole of my life, and it’s my first time trying to do so, yes I may be able to whipped up yummy looking food and dishes but baking, it’s just a total disaster.

Image

The cake batter after mixing it, and the hardest part was having soft butter, why couldn’t I just heat up the butter?!

Image

After mixing in the colourings for the gluey mix, I don’t know why red looks so pink so I ended up spamming tonnes of colouring trying to make the batter red, and ended up having to warn them not to eat the red layer.

Image

See! Red came out red and I regretted spamming in so much of the red. Stupid me. And because the yellow layer was too thin, I accidentally broke it and guess how I managed to salvage it?

Image

Spam layers of cream over it like how glue works, and guess what?

Thankfully, Glenda didn’t notice it, I hope!!

Image

Whipped cream! I could totally imagine the heap of fats that you are going to consume…

Image

So this was the original version of the cake… you will probably figure it out why it’s “original”…

Image

Taadaa the cream drooped!!!

I had totally no idea why it fell and on the exterior of the cream was like water, EW! It looked so ugly that I had to redo the cream, the next day…

Image

Pretty cupcakes that I made the next day!

Image

Just a pile of fats on a overly red cake.

Image

While I was baking, I managed to find time to make this fabric board “birthday card”!

And I made a big mess in the living room and kitchen that I took part of my sleeping time to clear up the mess.

Image

So much effort on the board and the FINAL PRODUCT looks SO pretty!

(Self-compliment because I totally needed it!)

Image

And I made cards for Karen and Glad to write their wishes on!

I can’t believe myself coming up with such pretty stuffs with just papers, glue, scissors and an empty floral fabric board.

I TOTALLY DESERVE A PAT ON THE SHOULDERRR~

Image

Guess where her guy brought her for dinner? Rochester Park and Dempsey.

So romantic. I wishes somewhat would do the same too, on my birthday…

(Better wake up and stop my dreaming…*a slap on face, phish*)

ImageImage

The food just looked too yummy!

And while Glenda was enjoying her dinner basking in the romantic atmosphere and her companion, we were just slacking in the room…

Image

AND, did these!

Image

I shall present you the END PRODUCT of the cake!!

Danggg~

I had to scrap off all the melted and horribly looking cream and redo it with buttercream icing! And I ended up pouring too much icing sugar, it turns out to be to sweet!

But well, at least it didn’t go out of shape! MUAHAHAAH xD

Image

Too lazy to even decorate it anymore so I just sprinkle so rainbow sprinkles and hearts and topped it with a gummy.

Image

Happy Glenda with the birthday cake that she couldn’t believe I baked it! YIPPEEE~~

ImageImage

It looks pretty when it’s cut. ❤ ❤

ImageImage

To the happiest girl, Glenda 😀

Image

And we’re off to … party again!

Image

Here’s a shot of Glenda and her Mister. Ahh, happy boy and her birthday girl!

(I wish I can meet my mister soon~bleahhh)

Image

Kisses for you! Muacks~

Image

What a fun night we had!

With their classmate, Ming Ai! She’s also from Malaysia, Kulai, just a little short drive away from Kota Tinggi, how COOL!

Image

And for the first time ever, I got my brows drawn by pretty Glad!

HAPPYHAPPYHAPPY 🙂

My 20th Birthday x M Hotel Singapore Staycation !

May 18 has been a day that I have been looking forward to since I made a new group of friends this year and that they have been the most bubbly, cheerful and caring girls I have ever been with as a clique. However, because of grandma’s departure, 6 days before my birthday on the 12th, I had a total emotional breakdown, nothing in the world makes me happy and that every little thing in my life reminds me of her, I literally cried everyday and at least twice.

Image

The chinese-style funeral standard outfit that I had to wear.

White/Blue Pants : Grandchildren

White/Black Pants: Children

White/Green Pants: Great-Grandchildren

May 16th was the day grandma’s body was sent to the crematorium for cremation, that same day, was the day the girls booked the hotel room for me and we were supposed to be happily celebrating away, but I was not in any celebratory mood. Just that afternoon, I wonder how many times have I cried and that few days, I just binged and cried till my eyes were poofy and swollen. I know it’s that bad and the girls, being very caring, insisted that I should go for the surprise that they planned for me as it was their only way to cheer me up despite me wanting to give my 20th birthday celebration a miss.

Image

After the funeral, I had to pack up grandma’s room and assist them in cleaning up.

My younger sis made me took this photo though!

Around evening time, I packed my bag and headed to Tanjong Pagar to meet the girls. The hotel was located at some unknown location and it took me a long time to the extend the girls came over to pick me up.

Image

Glenda took a selfie while waiting for Karen and her guy friend, Casper.

Image

They blindfolded me and Glad led the way to the room!

The feeling of being blindfolded it’s quite scary, pitch darkness, yet you could hear voices and giggles, curious about the surroundings but as well as fear of what might happen such as banging on the wall or tripping over someone and falling down.

Image

Taddaa!

Everything that suits my taste, non-chocolate cake (that won’t stain my braces) and simply decorated pastel background with the pretty balloons! The lilac balloons are my fav! COZ IT’s PURPLE!

Image

I’m so thankful for the girls for trying their best to cheer me up and keeping me occupied awhile to prevent me from feeling sad and grieving over grandma’s death!

AND…

Spending effort to plan out this surprise for me! ❤

ImageImageImage

These polaroids were mine to keep! 🙂

Image

My birthday cake! 😀

Image

This was the next surprise that came in!

While we were getting changed and having our dinner, I picked up a call from the room phone and it appeared that it was Sharen! He called from his camp and asked his ex-colleague to direct the line to my room! What a pleasant surprise to hear his voice! He asked me how was the room and everything as he helped us to get late check-out and higher floor and then ask if I received anything from the in-room dining. I did not received anything at the moment when he called but after he hanged up, the door bell rang and the staff brought this brownie for me! Sharen had asked his night duty manager to deliver a birthday cake for me! I was totally surprised and totally did not expected it!

ImageImage

Image

My ootd for the night! 🙂

Image

Selfies in the lift, that had a huge full-length mirror!

Image

We forgot to take something from the room and went back to take, and selfie time again!

Image

You probably could guess where we are going this time from the outfit that we are wearing…

YES! We are going to Zoukkk!

It’s also Phuture Bulletproof’s 1st Anniversary, totally hyped!

Image

While waiting for Casper to buy the mixers since he brought a bottle of Bacardi, another selfie in the convenient stall!

Image

That’s Casper right beside Karen, he is her colleague.

Image

The 4 of us in Zouk!

Image

Warning: DO NOT JUDGE!

We didn’t really kissed but just posed for the fun of it!

Image

Okay, this time I did kissed Karen on the cheek, birthday girl, FREE KISSES on the cheek!

No, I’m kidding, exclusive for the 3 girls only and Siru, if she ever wants it!

Image

For the first time, none of the girls are drunk and we could take tonnes of photo in Zouk! It was AWESOME!

Image

The next morning, I woke up early, feeling sad and after sneaking to the toilet to sob, I felt super duper hungry and decided to head out of the hotel to get my favourite ramen, Keisuke Tonkatsu King Ramen at Orchid Hotel while the girls were sleeping away!

Image

Then, I took away some food for the girls and after lunch, we headed to the hotel’s pool for some suntanning and dipping in the pool and jacuzzi!

Dip, because the pool was simply too tiny for a swim.

Image

Selfies at the pool!

Image

Casper came by and helped us to take a photo! I hid behind because I hadn’t been exercising and that my tummy had appeared.

Most importantly, the tanlines I had, because they told me to take of my shorts and that I always wore this bikini pants for suntanning so now that I’m wearing a triangle bottom, the tanlines looks way too ugly and hilarious xD

Image

All my pretty girls! 😉

Image

Lucky us, a very good looking man walked past us while we were taking selfie and due to some unknown miscommunication, he thought we asked him to join us for a selfie!

But sure, he was good-looking!

Image

There’s all my pretty girls! And it pretty sums up the whole of my birthday and staycation at M Hotel Singapore.

Image

Collated all my birthday gifts from all of my friends from my 20th Birthday!

Image

Lastly, I shall end this post with my favourite polaroid amongst all!

Kudos to the smart me for initiating this pose and it turns out beautiful!

The birthday surprise have been pleasantly great and all my entire life, this is the first time ever was my birthday that well-planned by someone and that I did not had to planned my birthday for myself. Thank you so much and this is the best birthday I ever had. I know I wasn’t very cooperating in taking most photos since I was feeling quite down but I tried my best to be happy and smile so that the photos would turn out great.

Image

I was “forced” by Glenda to take this photo as I was super reluctant to take for I felt fat. (I put on some pounds and haven’t been exercising since grandma was hospitalized…)

The awkwardness, but I shall end this post here.

Happy 20th Birthday to me!

Happiness can be very simple.

Another Friday Night

As you might not know, I have been having my internship and I work 5 days a week, 9.5hrs each day with 2 days off, friday and saturday.

Of course, I don’t just waste these 2 days at home and do nothing, but rather each friday night has been fully well-utilized by spending with my bff, Siru!

This friday night was a special one because it was the first night of the F1 Night Race and it was my first time spending time in town experiencing the F1 excitement with the crowd of tourists from all over the world.

Not only that, we went to the Han’s at The Great Eastern, the largest outlet in their chain and the place was a gorgeous and evoked great memories of me when I was kid where my parents would bring me there often.

I miss those good old times where I was being well-treated by them and as you know, I have family problems and because of it, it led me to being a very independent child. (I’m not going to further continue on about it, because it’s suppose to be a happy post!)

And I had my chicken chop with mushroom sauce! It was really yummy!

ImageThe best part of going out with my bff is that our dress code is not just the casual basics, looking shabbily, but rather, it is DRESSED TO IMPRESS!

This allows us to spend time and putting in effort to doll ourselves up to look good when we are out. I mean it’s a girl’s thing to look pretty and regardless of the function, we just want to look the best!

And here’s my #OOTD : Black dress from Taiwan, Feather Earrings from WeiYi on Valentines and my favourite black flats!

ImageAnd here’s my bff’s #OOTD!

ImageOf course, I taught her to pose! Look how pretty she is in the photo! 😀

And we took lots of photos, selfies to be exact!

ImageCuteness overload!

Image

It’s BEST FRIENDS FOREVER!

Image

ImageMirror image!

Image

Pretending to be happy drunk and while she pretends to be emo drunk.ImageAnother sweet one!

I really enjoyed my friday night with this awesome babe, and although I may be repeating how happy I was each time I’m with this girl, and it might sound repetitive, but there is really no way I can express how feel so blessed to be able to spend time with her, taking tonnes of crazy photos for memories keepsake.

ImageAnd I shall end this post with a pretty photo I took of myself with my bff’s phone!

An Authentic Kampong Chinese New Year Experience!

Definitely, it’s authentic with the rooster calling away during sunrise and living in a really big house with our own garden.

So, I had my Chinese New Year this year spent at my grandparents house again. The reason to which why I did not spend my Chinese New Year here, right in Singapore was that I didn’t like being here, I prefer the way of life in Malaysia, relaxing and slow paced, of course, time past faster than you could expect.

I had lots of fun there playing with “explosives” such as fireworks and various types of firecrackers!ImageFireworks!ImageReally pretty firecrackers!

ImageTourists came to our kampong to put firecracker! LOL~

Not only that, I got to take a look at the new terrace house that we had just renovated and managed to experience a high tide due to heavy rainfalls over the past few days! It was fun with the water coming into our house and rising to our knees in our kitchen! FUNNN!

ImageWe had our fence redone!ImageWhat do you think of our new house?ImageHere’s the living room! With a set of PURPLE sofa!Image
